Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Gemara tells us that a person may not transgress in order to prevent his friend from sinning.  This implies that one may do so for his own benefit.  Since we know that ‘kol yisrael areivin ze lazeh’ and that all Jews are responsible for one another in the same way as they are responsible for themselves, why then would he not be permitted to do for a friend exactly as he would for himself?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

Why is there no mention in the Mishna regarding the minimum height of a Kora (ten tefachim – see 3b)?

The Gemara says the Heichal had doors for ‘tznius’ – why wasn’t that achieved by the curtain (that was hanging over the entrance) and how was this achieved by the doors which were apparently open all day (to allow for shechita)?

We learn that a Reshus Harabim is an area without walls, similar to the Midbar.  The Gemara in Shabbos (97b) says that the Machane of Levi was a Reshus Harabim; how can an area surrounded by tents be considered a Reshus Harabim?

The Gemara initially thought that Rav Yehuda requires four mechitzos for Reshus Hayachid.  If so how can one carry in a Mavoi that only employs a Korah (which is not considered a fourth mechitza)?

The Gemara concludes that a privately owned courtyard which is used as a public walk-through is considered a Reshus Harabim (see Tosfos D”H Yehoshua).  How can this be derived from the Midbar which featured only a publicly owned Reshus Harabim?
