Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Gemara concludes that the definition of ‘patur’ mentioned in the first part of the Mishna, actually means patur and also mutar.  Why does the Mishna choose to use the word ‘patur’ instead of simply saying that it is mutar?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

We learn that a house that is less than ten tefachim high is considered to be a Carmelis.  But if what defines a Reshus Hayachid is a self-contained area (which is separated from Reshus Harabim through partitions) why would this fully enclosed area not constitute a Reshus Hayachid?

The Ran in Sukka (9a) says we do not combine two halachos of mechitza (ex. Lavud with Dofen akuma).  How does this fit with our Gemara which applies the halachos of Lavud and Chavot to the same Korah?
