Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Gemara (on Amud Alef) states in the name of Rabbi Yochanan that one who throws an item which ends up landing in the hand of his friend is Chayav (even if it was not his intention to land it there).  How does this fit with Rabbi Yochanan’s halacha (on Amud Beis) that the akira needs proper intentions to be considered a melacha (which requires proper intention and ‘meleches machsheves’)?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

Rashi (6b D”H kma”l) explains that the term ‘reshus hayachid gemura’ indicates that according to the Rabbanan a Reshus Hayachid requires to be completely enclosed from all sides.  Rashi in Eruvin (11b D”H lizrok) says that a Reshus Hayachid requires only three walls.   How can we resolve both Rashi’s?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

According to Rav Huna we reckon the Karmelis only from the water’s surface, not from the riverbed below.  How does this align with the Gemara learned earlier that water does not negate a mechitza; how can the water here overtake the mechitza below it?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

Rav Yehuda says one should dry himself prior to leaving the river, lest he carry the water which is on him.  How can one walk in Reshus Harabim during a rainstorm?

How can we compare the case of indirect moving of Muktza in the Mishna – where he uses his shoulder etc. – to Rav Nachman’s case where he is using his hands, and perhaps is considered more stringent?

Why is the pouch not ‘batel’ to the child who is wearing it for play?
