Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
We learn that a house that is less than ten tefachim high is considered to be a Carmelis. But if what defines a Reshus Hayachid is a self-contained area (which is separated from Reshus Harabim through partitions) why would this fully enclosed area not constitute a Reshus Hayachid?

Shabbos 8 – שבת ח
Rava proves from a Mishna that walking (through a puddle) in an inconvenient manner is considered ‘walking’, but inconvenient usage (like storage in a pit) is not considered proper usage. What can be a reason to differentiate between the two things?
Shabbos 22 – שבת כב
Rava says if he lit inside then brought it outside he is not yotzei, since the lighting needs to be done in the proper place. We learned yesterday that in times of need they would light inside (as is done nowadays); if lighting inside is technically acceptable then why in this case is it not considered a proper lighting?
The Gemara quotes two pieces in the name of Rav Tanchum (Ner Chanukah above twenty, and the pit of Yosef); is there any connection between the two?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
Rebbi Yochanan teaches us that just as the Eruv doesn’t require a Perutah, likewise Sechirus has this leniency and can be done with less than a Perutah. How does this fit with Rebbi Yochanan’s earlier statement (62a) that less than a Perutah has legitimate value by a Goy for all halachos as well?
