Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Gemara says that Avraham established Shacharis, Yitzchak established Mincha etc. – but don’t we know that Avraham kept the entire Torah (Yoma 28b) which presumably would include all the tefillos as well?

According to Tosfos the sin of the student was only a derabanan.  If so why did Eliyahu Hanavi quote a pasuk as the source for his transgression?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Mishna lists the neglect of Niddah, Challah and Ner Shabbos which can be seriously consequential during childbirth.  How is it that Ner Shabbos which is only a Mitzvah derabanan, is equated in severity with Niddah and Challah which are issurim min hatorah?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

Tosfos initially cites an approach that placing the pepper etc. in one’s mouth is classified as refu’ah, but then Tosfos discounts this and maintains that it was not included in the issur of refu’ah on Shabbos.  Why was this not included in the gezeira?

The Chachamim allowed two specific accessories to be worn on Shabbos on account of maintaining attractiveness, just as we find regarding Niddah.  Why don’t we find specific limitation by Niddah as well?

Eruvin 46 – עירובין מו

The Gemara says halacha can conclude like the yachid even in face of an opposing majority.  Why don’t we apply the din of ‘Acharei rabim lehatos’ (we are meant to follow the majority)?

According to the opinion of ‘Matin’ (we advise an individual to follow that shita, but don’t publicly advocate it) how can we support one halacha for the yachid, and another for the rabim?
