Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
The Gemara teaches that one who cannot discern the direction of Eretz Yisroel, should direct his heart to ‘His Father in heaven’ as it says in the passuk ‘they shall daven to Hashem’. In the Mishna however it said that in such a circumstance one should ‘direct his heart to the Kodesh Hakadashim’ – is there any contradiction?
The Gemara questions whether Chanukah or Rosh Chodesh are mentioned in Birchas Hamzon, but both days are certainly mentioned during Tefillah. However, there seems to be a discrepancy between them; if one omits Rosh Chodesh (Yaaleh veyavo) during Tefillah he need to repeat, but if he omits Chanukah (Al hanissim) he doesn’t – why?

The Gemara says the halacha of ‘Beitza’ is considered a greater chiddush since it can lead to a Melacha. But isn’t likewise the issur of separating Teruma also based on a concern that it may lead to fixing a keli – which is a Melacha?
In the case of Terumah, why does he need to add ‘Ein bidevorai kelum’?
