Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
The Gemara provides a list of landmarks that require a bracha on account of a miracle that occurred to Klal Yisrael in those locations (neis shel rabim). Amongst them is mentioned the salt-pillar of Lot’s wife; why is this also considered a communal miracle?

The Gemara challenged the use of the words ‘rov hahodaos’ (Hahem of the majority of thankfulness) but instead one should say ‘kel hahodaos’ (of all thankfulness). This led Rav Papa to conclude that indeed both terms should be combined together. But why should one say ‘rov hahodaos’ if it seems to be inappropriate?

How did Hillel know that the outcry wasn’t coming from his home – since we know that misfortunes will sometimes occur to good people for reasons known only to Hashem – if so what was the reason for Hillel’s certainty?
