Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
The Gemara provides a list of landmarks that require a bracha on account of a miracle that occurred to Klal Yisrael in those locations (neis shel rabim). Amongst them is mentioned the salt-pillar of Lot’s wife; why is this also considered a communal miracle?

The Gemara asks that the Passuk was already applied to determine the size of a Karfef (and is thus unavailable for the rope size). Tosfos (23b) points to this Gemara as an indication that the Karfef size is a din Torah (otherwise one would be able to derive two hints from the same Pssuk). How is the din of Karfef – which seems to be a Derabanan concept – have a Torah application?
