Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

Ladders lined up more than ten amah wide, create a Pesach but are not considered a Pirtzah – how can we have it both ways (since a Pesach of this size is generally a Pirtzah)?

  1. It is not an actual opening in the wall, and therefore the fact that the wall is there remains. It has the benefit of a Pesach, which is that you can easily go from one to the other. But, obviously we aren’t looking at one Reshus when you must use a ladder to go from one to the other.
