Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
Why is the difficulty of childbearing mentioned prior to the phases of expectancy and childbirth themselves?
Perhaps one answer can be that Harbe Arbe is technically attached to Etzvonech, in the Peshuto Shel Mikra. Therefore, tat had to come first first, although it is a Remez to Tzaar Gidul Banim. Haronech comes before Leida chronologically.
Also, the Onshim are going in order, as it says, בקלקלה מתחילין מן הצד, when it comes to punishment we start from the lower level. We actually learn this from the Klala of the snake, Chava and Adam. Anyhow, first the blood is mentioned, which is a mere nuisance, then the more significant hardship of child-rearing is mentioned. After this comes actual pain, and then the even more significant psychological hardships of אל אישך תשוקתיך and והוא ימשול בך.
