Why is being a cohen not a monetary issue? They get truma and sometimes eat sacrifices. If someone knows that you are a cohen and refuses to testify to that effect, he is causing you a financial lose. Why wouldn’t that count?
Good point. However it is only causation (gerama) – and as such will not be considered an actual loss.
