Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
If one performs ‘Kriya’ on Shabbos he is yotze the mitzvah (derabanan) of Kriya. Why is this not considered a ‘Mitzva haba’ah ba’veira’?

If one performs ‘Kriya’ on Shabbos he is yotze the mitzvah (derabanan) of Kriya. Why is this not considered a ‘Mitzva haba’ah ba’veira’?
Eruvin 41 – עירובין מא
The Gemara relates that Rebbi Akiva ate the egg for no reason other than to demonstrate the halacha for his talmidim (that one does not complete a fast Erev Shabbos). But since that is the halacha, why would he not be required to eat the egg regardless of the talmidim?

Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
The Gemara relates that Rebbi Akiva ate the egg for no reason other than to demonstrate the halacha for his talmidim (that one does not complete a fast Erev Shabbos). But since that is the halacha, why would he not be required to eat the egg regardless of the talmidim?
