Today’s Daf Yomi Question:

The Gemara says one should not use the second cup of wine for the kos shel bracha since he may incur harm (from the demons) hence it is not a proper fulfillment of the verse ‘hichon likras elokecha’ which requires one to properly prepare when approaching Hashem. Why does the Gemara need to provide another reason for this prohibition; certainly it is forbidden if it may cause harm?

Bais Hillel hold that hiring a teacher to teach a profession for one’s son is considered ‘heavenly matters’ and is permitted on Shabbos. Why is his son’s livelihood different than his own livelihood which is certainly prohibited on Shabbos?

We learn that a Reshus Harabim is an area without walls, similar to the Midbar. The Gemara in Shabbos (97b) says that the Machane of Levi was a Reshus Harabim; how can an area surrounded by tents be considered a Reshus Harabim?
