Today’s Daf Yomi Question:
The Gemara concludes that perhaps we cannot apply those’halacha formulas’ to a machlokes within a Braisa. Why could this not have been an answer to the Kushya from the Braisa of the three month wait period as well?
Rashi explains that the issue with a Braysa is that the names might have been switched around. Once we know from the Mishna that Rebbi Yosi holds that she may be Nis’arsa, the Braysa can’t be switched around.
Indeed, but perhaps it is not Rebbi Meir who is disputing him (in which case the halacha follows R”Y) rather a multitude of Tana’im?
But Rashi only says that the mentioned names might have been switched, not that they might have come from nowhere. In fact, Rashi stresses this by repeating, “Rebbi Yosi is really Rebbi Yehuda and Rebbi Yehuda is really Rebbi Yosi.”
Good point, thanks!
