Enjoyed as always the shiur.
One question about today’s daf. The man stands on the roof and throws the Get to his wife below. Weren’t the sages concerned about the ethics of the whole thing?
You are married to a woman and you don’t even have the decency to hand her the Get in person. You just throw the Get at her?

The Rambam (Maseches Berachos) explains that the Mishna will never state an obvious halacha clearly stipulated in the chumash. The Torah says ‘venasan beyadah’ (place in her hands) but now we learn that even an indirect transfer – such as tossing to her, works as well. There is certainly no issue if she is not even present or standing beside her property, as per one opinion in the Gemara.
